"Hotel Del Luna" consists of 16 episodes and is currently available on TVing and Netflix.
The drama revaolves around Jang Man-Wol, the owner of Hotel Del Luna, a place for those who are neither human nor ghosts, and Gu Chan-Sung, a hotelier, and the events that unfold between them.
Due to his father's mistake, Gu Chan-Sung enters into a contract to work at Hotel Del Luna 20 years later, and every year on Gu Chan-Sung's birthday, Jang Man-Wol sends him a gift. Despite his father's instructions to stay abroad, Gu Chan-Sung decides to return to Korea once the promised 20 years have passed.
Upon arriving in Korea, Gu Chan-Sung receives a special ability to see ghosts as a birthday gift from Jang Man-Wol. Despite trying to work at an ordinary hotel, Gu Chan-Sung eventually becomes the manager of Hotel Del Luna.
Jang Man-Wol, the owner of Hotel Del Luna, carries a haunting past that she cannot forget. It seemed as though she was still bound by that past.
However, strangely enough, Gu Chan-Sung begins to dream of Jang Man-Wol's past. Are Gu Chan-sung and Jang Man-Wol bound by a tragic fate? Or is it destiny? And the attraction between the two!
One of the most memorable aspects of the drama "Hotel Del Luna" was the stories of various ghosts and the retribution faced by those who committed wrongdoings.
Gu Chan-Sung and Jang Man-Wol resolve the grievances of unjustly deceased spirits and send them to the afterlife. Through these events, Jang Man-Wol gradually undergoes a transformation.
The casting was perfect, with great chemistry between Gu Chan-Sung and Jang Man-Wol!
Many viewers found the ending of "Hotel Del Luna" unsatisfactory, perhaps because it was more of an open ending than a conclusive one. I also remember feeling puzzled by the ending and looked for interpretations. Viewers seemed to have wanted a clear happy ending, but that wasn't the case.
As it was a highly popular drama, there was much discussion about the ending. If you enjoy fantasy dramas, you'll likely find "Hotel Del Luna" entertaining!
